Wanted Federal Fugitive Who Killed Innocent Driver in Fontana Car Accident While Fleeing Authorities is Apprehended

CarAcc10

The harrowing story of a Long Beach man-turned fugitive who crashed into an innocent driver while fleeing police custody in an unrelated matter has shaken a community, and underscores that car accidents can and do happen to innocent drivers, seemingly out of the blue. According to local news reports, ABC 7 Live, on Thursday, September 5, wanted federal fugitive Noe Armando Banuelos, a 32-year-old originally from Long Beach, California, was fleeing from police custody in a white Jeep Cherokee when he slammed into a red Mustang sedan that was crossing an intersection. The intersection where the fatal accident occurred is located at Beech Avenue and Cherry, in Fontana. The impact of the out-of-the-blue collision sent the Mustang and its driver into a fence that was located on the side of the road. The driver of the Mustang was killed.

Banuelos had fled from authorities while he was being transferred from Arrowhead Regional Medical Center to jail at around 7:00 p.m. the following Wednesday evening. Although details about how exactly Banuelos was able to escape police custody at the hospital are still unknown, it is clear that he was able to obtain the Jeep and was stopped for speeding before the chase ensued that ended in the death of the Mustang driver. Banuelos was ultimately found by authorities after the fatal and tragic accident with the Mustang, at an abandoned golf course on Pepper Avenue in Fontana. The investigation into the terrible and fatal accident is still ongoing.
