Three Dead in “Violent” Car Accident in San Bernadino after Sedan Crashes into Semi-Truck
A serious and deadly car accident that is being called “violent” and “brutal” by local news sources shook San Bernadino over the weekend. Local news channel and website KTLA 5 News reported on the fatal car accident that sent two individuals to the hospital, and claimed the lives of three other people. According to the news channel, the terrible and fatal accident occurred on Saturday, September 14th, at around 11:26 p.m. in the afternoon. The report indicates that investigators looking into the accident believe that at that time, an individual driving a 2018 Toyota Corolla sedan on Southern California’s Interstate 215 near University Parkway, when it crashed into the back of a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia semi-truck that was stopped on the right shoulder of the Interstate. The driver of the Toyota Corolla is believed to have veered onto the shoulder before hitting the rear of the Cascadia semi-truck. The impact of the collision caused the Toyota Corolla to then veer-off to the left, crossing several lanes of traffic on the busy Interstate. It then came to a final stop after it hit a 2010 Acura MDX that was traveling northward on the Interstate. When the Corolla stopped, it was then hit by a 2023 Dodge Ram 3500 truck.
Investigations into the accident are still ongoing, but as of the time of initial reports, it was unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the fatal collision. In total, the three women that were traveling in the Toyota Corolla, including the driver, were killed in the accident and were pronounced dead at the scene. Two of the women were ejected from the Corolla, while the third was found still inside of the vehicle. The other individuals involved in the accident that were traveling in the Freightliner semi-truck, Acura, and Dodge Ram truck were injured in the accident, but their injuries are said to be “minor”.
